Makeup artist

Okie, damsie very helpful helpch lil puddy call the makeup artist - Stephanie Lee
who also did wanying & princesses makeup.

On one hand I'm stuck between getting the cheaper one (about 168) and her (hers is 250, with mehz hair thrown in + ampoule + eyelash)...whooping 80 peanuts difference. But as I've seen princess' and...everyone raved abt how natural her makeup is...okok, so tomolo i will call her myself to double confirm.

Now my problem comes. I'll be asking her to come around 1030am to makeup - target to end 12 noon, so that I can eat + shoot photos from then til 6. She's asking if I need a touchup - i think not...I'm sure it can last 12 hrs right? or else i may as well do it myself! coz it cost 100. However, if i don need a touchup, then how to engage her to makeup for mehmeh mama at 80?

Venue confirmed!

Hehe, yest me and mehz went to meet preeeetie girl (she really is quite pretty) at 4seasons.

We took lift to 20th floor, known as the penthouse of 4 seasons, and she showed us the West room first. The West room has chandeliers and the panels are brown, it overlooks some tall buildings and part of mt faber. We couldnt go into the East room because that is occupied with some cocktail event. The East room has covered lights and panels are cream, and overlooks Tangs & the Road (orchard rd - can see headlight of car and city lights) etc. We were able to peep in from the front/back of the room. The two rooms are not linked, but can cross from the outdoor swimming pool into the back doors (cross my fingers no kids wanna run around and scream on that NIGHT - not likely at night, they will prolly freeze to death).

Both rooms come with a balcony (interesting...mebbe we can find some use for it...)

We could choose either room because there is this girl who wants one room but she cant make up her mind. Both me and lamb prefers the East one...because I find brown in such a small space a bit oppresive n i think the lights from Orchard Road will make the view better compared to BLACK mt faber; as for lamb, i dono why he also like the cream one though we didnt really manage to go in and see.

We went for tea at the lounge ...

She correctly pointed out that since this is not a wedding package, we will be missing out
-wedding favors (the choco pralines cost $3/pax add. )
-invitation cards (we don need those)
-room (nice to have, but not necessary - though seems a bit lugi)
-flower stands for aisle (can eat??)

Actually she forgot to mention forgoed free cakie!

To "sweeten" the deal...not very sweet blah...but I didnt bother to bargain...what bargaining power does 5 tables have anyway....she increased parking from 20% to 30% (which shld be sufficient) and also wines to come from their wedding banquet wine list (cheapest from $42++)

Anyway we were looking at the usual menus, and then hiamming a bit and she suggested indiv served plates, which was a hit with mehz. It's gonna be only 6 course, but because its indiv served, got bigger portion. Only thing is..its quite ex at $118++ onwards , the most ex goes up to $238++ where you got caviar!!

Anyway i got her to leave us to discuss stuff over free tea, and she went so long away. haha. mebbe she thot we indecisive...but then my lovable lil woolly lamb being so practical asked the correct question of 'what's stopping us?', which really...is NOTHING. Except for being a bit pricey, everything seems ok. We liked the 128++ menu (PEKING DUCK!!) and most likely will go for that.

Anyway, based on puddy's own calculation....for 50 pax at 128++ and 10 bottles of wine at $42++...no extra parking or anything extra alcoholic...it will cost about $6820++ = $8027.14.

Assuming we get $5k back in AP, its a loss of 3k....so to minimize that...can we spread the word that it is 130++ per person?!?! HEHEHEHAHAHAHAHA

I end off with a picture of the room....which looks more like artist impression than a photo. Take with a pinch of salt...it is from their webbie. IMO, without anything inside, it does not look so impressive.

Wedding bands part 3.1

Bored at home, so took some photos of the blings that we were looking at. The picture above is the mehz ai bu shi shou 2.8K pair at Soo Kee.

The picture below shows a general design that we always pick. Center striped with the center stripe in matt and the sides with gloss. This one everywhere also got, with minor variations!

the search for that elusive wedding band part 3

Soooo we went into Meyson at bugis first. There was a 400/pair center striped ring. Reasonable, but due to some flush/protuding factor...mehz din like.

So we went couple ring shopping. Silver corner by nouveau has 3 nice rings around 40-80 /pair. 925 silver of coz. There was one, 58 peanuts, that looked exactly like the meyson one. There was another convex in one, that I like, but but it was outta size. And unlike the exp jewellers, no size means...TOO BAD.

Went around to Charles Stefano (Baucsch K) , but their rings all thick, save one, which is not nice.

So off we go to PS for couple lab. Couple lab has similar to silver corner designs, but really not what we wanted. There was this princess jewelery, which sells a pair of the meyson kinda centre striped ring for 500+/pair, and mehz liked it more than meyson one. We didn't stay long at PS and went back to wisma.

Where we stepped in moshi moshi, and they had this pair (similar to silver corner) at 52/pair. I thot i liked silver corner's one better though, even though mehz said they were the same. HAiz, look at so many can't remember.

I told mehz to look at SK's wavy 700 peanuts ring one more time to confirm that he doesnt like it. We went there but got people, so we went to citigems to take a look. Out of their non-display tray comes a PT 900 thin band which is matt, with a thin glossy strip in between at 670/pair. PLATINUM at 600+ peanuts!!! Summore size limited. But but.. we stepped out again.

Went to SK to confirm don like the wavy ring, and then found out that their stupid jewel card has no points. You spend 300 peanuts to GET AN EMPTY CARD, so that the next purchase you can get the points and then the NEXT NEXT purchase you get to redeem it. STUPID reward system really!!

Dropped by goldheart to get baba gold at 50% off, quite nice 3 butterflies! Nicest already and at 50% off is quite affordaable.

So it is down to 2500 SooKee ring --> 670 Citigems ring --> 58 silver corner ring --> no ring!

Decided to go bugis and see one last time sookee ring... mehnmeh really ai bu shi shou...so i think the decision is sorta made...+ the ladies one with the blings are actually quite nice....the total will be 2.85k if we get a pair.

Wanted to sleep on it summore...and i suggested tiffany...since 2k + also can get tiffany...

so mebbe aprt 4 you see us going tiffany, bvgalri and cartier, hopefully we wont find something even nicer and MORE EX!

shopping for wedding bands part 2

Went to orchard today to look for the elusive meyson....until we found out that its no longer at orchard.

Went back to sK to see the 700 peanuts band. But lil lamb suddenly don't like it anymore.

Tianpo has horrendous designs!

Poh Heng has no memorable ones too.

Took a bus to wisma, and relooked at all the shops again.

Aspial (part of LH) had this customisation thingy where you can choose band width, material and finish. But a normal WG ring will cost more than $1000. not really value for money.

LH as usual has super thick bands that feel very uncomfy on the hand.

mehmeh still loves his soo kee 1200++ platinum embarassed ring.

we totter back to goldheart which also has platinum rings, but none as nice as the one at sookee.

SK has no platinum bands though.

Our next stop is bugis, with meyson and the rest of the 5 there too. Taka is just across the street at bugis village.

If all else fails, we can go moshi moshi and bits and pieces at wisma (again!)

Wedding bands

~so tired after totter the whole raffles city area to shop for bling bling.

we went love & co. and mehmeh hiam nothing nice there.

then we went lee hwa the exp one, and mehmeh liked one that puddy hand nice, but his hand not nice. rest of the bands so thickie...

then we went citigems and amazed at how cheap their bling bling is. but the design all look like crap.

then we went SK and found a nice wavy design that got no bling bling and got GSS sale at 728/pair.

I dragged woolly lamb to one more shop, and duhz he like a 19xx+++ platinum ring with a carved out curved design. SO EXPENSIVE. However, baba gold was going at a very reasonable 50% off and a very nice butterfly.

Then we went marina sq to eat foodie and to see Soo Kee, and and and, we found a series of thin bands! The only shop that got thin bands! but but they are platinum which will cost $12xx per ring! And simple design somemore....

Haiz. we have to go more places to find.
